Wicked Ways 04:31
The power of the narrative it cannot be believed All the trust is placed in something old you'll never see. It's like a bolt of lightening that strikes just below the knees Resigned to life but hope for something more. Preacher cleans my soul to close a profitable day, Make down payment on salvation and then pray the gay away Tell your sisters, tell your mother that we aren't all worth the same. I don't need faith to fight a worthy cause, I don't need faith to fight a worthy cause. With nothing left to prove I can believe just what i want to. There's nothing left to say and so i keep my mouth shut. These questions don't bring answers but we do have our beliefs In the sense of getting better in the sense of being free, In the sense that you may choose your fate but your fate can't choose me 'Cos i refuse, refuse, refuse. The old man on the corner howls a warning to the moon He says the end is coming to a theatre near you soon, He's booked himself a box so he can get a decent view Of everything he's missed along his way. The streetlight picks him out light he is putting on a show He grips the map that provides him with comforts like a home He's tried to save so many but nobody want to know. I'm grateful that it's how he spends his days, So i don't have to mend my wicked ways. I repent for my wicked ways.

Watch You Go 05:12
So pay attention and i'll tell you a story, A tale of pain and woe, of passion and glory, Ordinary isn't ordinary from this view. And he thinks: i won't rush you but we are in a hurry. And she thins: There's no problem but i want you to worry Do you question my choices when i choose you? There's no reaction and you'll get slow applause It's terrifying. We stare into the jaws of something so fine It'll blow all our minds at the fuse. So how does it go? They keep on telling me you'll know when you know. There's lots of symptoms but don't know the disease. It's getting harder to breathe. Is there anything more? Save me doctor why dont you have a cure? I might not take it but please give me the choice. I'm drowning in the white noise. So i sit and watch you go go go. After falling and the dizzy explosion, You stabilise and then you regain composure The readings wobble but the craving keeps you still. Or chains you down its like you're under a spell and Drags you backwards through a beautiful hell and Leaves you standing on the edge so drink your fill There's no reaction and you'll get slow applause, It's terrifying. We stare into the jaws And eyes will go blind as we drink in the dazzling view. So how does it go? They keep on telling me you'll know when you know. There's lots of symptoms but don't know the disease. It's getting harder to breathe. Is there anything more? Save me doctor why dont you have a cure? I might not take it but please give me the choice. I'm drowning in the white noise. So i sit and watch you go go go.

about

Two of the more esoteric numbers. Wicked Ways is a bit 60's pop song, with added choir bit and dueling guitar solo. I like the randomness.
Watch You Go is a sort of medical love song. Hard to explain. Experimenting with horns for the first time. See what you think. Again this was all recorded on Garageband on my phone so listen before you buy.

This was all me again. Toby Hawkins (Pedestrian Zero) offered some invaluable guidance, so a bit him too.

about

The Highwire Calamity Gravesend, UK

Aiming for somewhere between Arcade Fire and Murder By Death, usually missing wildly.

I had songs that weren't right for my other band (3dbsdown.bandcamp.com), so I started demoing them for myself. It has got a bit out of hand. I'd like to record more songs properly but that costs money, so all contributions gratefully accepted.
